An "Affiliate Agreement" is a legal contract between a Web site operator and a third party that agrees to undertake promotion of the Web site's products or services. For example, Amazon.com has a large affiliate program where other sites can put up hyperlinks or other advertising linking to the Amazon site. If a user clicks on the link or advertising, is transported to the Amazon site, and buys a product on Amazon, the affiliate Web site is entitled to a commission.
