If I apply and am approved for extra Medicare help with prescription drug costs and I decide I do not want the Medicare prescription drug program, what should I do?

You should contact the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and inform them that you do not want to participate in the prescription drug program. CMS will advise you on how to opt out of the program. You can contact CMS by calling 1-800-633-4227.
