"EDGAR" refers to the SEC's Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis and Retrieval system, a computer database system that allows companies to file reports with the SEC by computer instead of having to file physical documents. This data is available to the general public via the Internet. The types of reports available from EDGAR include 10-Ks (annual reports), 10-Qs (quarterly reports), 8-Ks (significant developments such as new material contracts) and 13-Ds (disclosures by 5% or more shareholders of the company).
