What if I move after filing my Application for a Social Security Number Card?
Notify the post office of your change of address and the post office will forward your card to your new address. In most cases, you will receive your card within two weeks. If your documents must be verified with the Department of Homeland Security, it may take longer to get your card.
If you do not receive your card, please contact your Social Security field office to get a replacement card. To get a replacement, you will have to resubmit your evidence of identity and U.S. citizenship, or your lawful immigration status and authority to work.
