A "bond fund" is a fund (including mutual and closed-end funds) that invests in corporate or government bonds. The fund may invest in federal, foreign and state or local bonds and may include both taxable (for example, corporate bonds) or tax exempt bonds (for example, certain state or local municipal bonds).
