Can Social Security give me the address of someone whom I am trying to contact?
No. Social Security's records are confidential and the Privacy Act precludes Social Security releasing such information without the written authorization of the individual in question. For your information, Social Security only has current address information on individuals who have applied for or are receiving benefits. Social Security also has address information from employer reports of earnings but that information is protected by the Internal Revenue Code and Social Security can't disclose it under these circumstances.
